Wingsea Stud is located on Sjalland in Denmark, and to be more specific a few miles out side the capital Copenhagen. And with this great location we have full access to import horses from Europe, as we are just at the door to the whole contitent. The stud has ancestry from the early 16th century, but the older part is newly restored, as well as there are new extensions. Antique meets modern.
The stud is framed by the beautiful beech tree woods and fields, as well as being located just a mile from Sjalland's sandy beaches where you can both ride and bathe with the horses. The pastures range far away and are lined by white wooden fences. At the stud there are two riding pastures, whence one is on grass and the other on sand, a big manege, a walker and a dozen smaller paddocks, and additional medium sized pastures.
At the stud we have three stables, one for the breeding stallions, one for the competition horses, and one for the youngsters - where you also can find our sale horses. We have access to a heated saddle room, two groom spots in each end where we also can wash the horses, a room where we prepare and store the fodder and also a heated laundry room across from the saddle room. We also have a solarium for the horses, and it's located right by the youngsters' and sale horses' stable.
Wingsö straves to first and foremost produce horses with good bloodlines, both of quality and perfomance, and our goal is to produce competition horses who also do well in breeding. All horses on the stud has fine bloodlines and also have recieved either Class One or a Diploma when confirmated. They are very well-mannered and all of them gets the time they need and want.
Though, there are highly set requirements for horses to come here. They shall have much potential and possess a high rideability. We also take in 3 year olds for basic education, older horses for more education and development - or competing or breeding.
Daily the horses are checked on by grooms, me and also a veterinarian - and this is to see if the horses haven't gotten any injuries during the night. We want healthy and prosperous horses.
